Mizen Head Carn Uí Néid
Rugged cliffs soar out of the powerful surges of the Atlantic ocean at Mizen Head, the echo of the waves dominates the sound background. The lighthouse at the western cape is not too spectacular, and can only be reached by bridge. The bridge itself, is 52 meters long and spans a huge gap in the rocky cliffs, in a staggering height.
At the southern horizon, the lighthouse towering on Fastnet Rock can also be seen quite clearly from Mizen Head.
Mizen Head is a signature point of the Wild Atlantic Way, located approximately 14 kilometres west of Goleen.
