Ballynahown Pier Céibh Baile Na hAbhann
The rocky coast at Ballynahown Pier shows a coastal section, which is typical in the Connemara region.
Traditional sailing boats called Galway hookers can often be observed on their trip around the coast. When the weather is good one has a perfect sight on the Aran Islands, the Galway Bay and even the coast of county Clare.
Ballynahown pier is located approximately 1 kilometre south of Cartron (2 kilometres west of Inverin) on the Wild Altantic Way. Follow the narrow road opposite the school and then turn right on a even narrower track. On the end of the road lies Ballynahown pier.
