Carrigafoyle Castle Carraig an Phoill

The ruins of Carrigafoyle Castle are located behind thick stone walls on the idyllic banks on the mouth of Shannon. This location has once been an island, but as time went by it silted up and can nowadays be easily accessed on a path from the parking area.
The huge size of the castle is truly impressive, in regard to its inconspicuous outward appearance, however it contains numerous rooms and hallways.

Carrigafoyle castle is located approximately 2,5 kilometres north of Ballylongford on the Wild Atlantic Way.
