Clew Bay Cuan Mó
This bay was once home to the legendary pirate queen Granuaile (Grace O'Malley). An unclear number of tiny small islands (so called Drumlins) made this an ideal safe haven for the queen to hide from her enemies. According to legend, there are 365 islands in Clew bay, one for each day of the year. Croagh Patrick – Irelands sacred mountain – offers the best view over the bay.
Between Mulranny and Louisburgh, the Wild Atlantic Way winds along Clew Bay.
