Clifden Castle Caislean an Clochán

The ruins of Clifden Castle are towering over Clifden Bay, surrounded by lush green hills.
The castle can be reached by a 10 minutes walk through lush meadows, a peaceful and reviving landscape. Unfortunately, the ruins of Clifden castle cannot be entered, so the walk way to reach it, where you will pass ancient standing stones, is actually the highlight.

Directions

Clifden castle is located 2,5 kilometres west of Clifden and can be reached by foot from the Wild Atlantic Way.
It can also be seen from the lower sky road.
