Discovery Points of the Wild Atlantic Way

Along the Wild Atlantic Way there are numerous Discovery Points, which are pointed out by signs with the WAW logo. On our website you can find information about the Discovery Points of the different stages of the Wild Atlantic Way.

Among the many Discovery Points there are only fifteen, which have been chosen as Signature Discovery Points. These places are especially unique and shape the image of Irelandโ€™s remarkable west coast.

Signature Discovery Points – 15 wonders of the Wild Atlantic Way

Fifteen of the Wild Atlantic Way’s discovery points have been designated as โ€œSignature Pointsโ€. Special points that characterise Irelandโ€™s west coast due to their uniqueness. These โ€œSignature Pointsโ€ are:

Malin Head

Malin Head

Located in the far north of Inishowen Peninsula, Malin Head is the northernmost tip of the Irish mainland.

Fanad Head

Fanad Head

On the northernmost point of Fanad Peninsula lies Fanad Head with its wonderful view on the rough coast of the Atlantic ocean.

Slieve League

The fascinating cliff scenery of Slieve League is one of the outstanding natural wonders of the Wild Atlantic Way. With a height up to 600 metres, these steeply sloping cliffs are one of the highest sea cliffs in Europe.

Mullaghmore Head

At Mullaghmore Head you find yourself in a picture-book scenery: high waves roll towards the tranquil coast. Looking inland, Classiebawn Castle dominates the scenery against the backdrop of Ben Bulben.
