The Mouth of Shannon Inbhear na Sionainne

The estuary where the Shannon river flows into the sea, stretches from Loop Head and the northern coastal region of county Kerry, to the town of Limerick.
This area is home to dolphins who live here all year around.
There is a ferry connection between Killimer (county Clare) and Tarbert (county Kerry).

Directions

Dolphins can often be observed from the main land at the mouth of Shannon. If you would prefer to get a little bit closer, a boat cruise will be a great experience, for example with Dolphinwatch in Carrigaholt, their tours are very recommendable.
